April 2010
I want to post pictures in similar groups, so this set is a selection from our river boat cruise to the Tonle Sap Lake Floating Village.

The Floating Catholic Church (it used to be a Karaoke Bar) and Learning center.

Can you imagine living your entire life on a lake? Literally. Notice the floating water vegetable garden. The crocodiles are farmed for their leather. The tourist trade is helpful to these people. One US dollar for a picture of the children with the snakes. The people depend on the water for their livelihood.

We debated on our decision to support the exploitation of the children. We decided they needed the money whether we took their photo or not.

Everyone takes part in the daily chores.
These women were bringing used clothing to the village to sell.
Maybe a lecture on "Do you really understand how lucky we are?"
Tourist boats waiting for hire.
